Getting Started

This blog is for my family and friends. I'll be using it to write about my upcoming trip to Australia, where I'll spend 5 1/2 months on a Fulbright at the Australian National University.

Hey Ken,
How's it going "down under"?
The University Administration is being played for the fool once again. Perhaps they ought to team up Jennifer Lowenstein and Barrett and offer a course in "The Modern Middle East: A Case Study in Conspiracy"...oh wait, don't want to give them any ideas. By the way, don't you find it interesting that no one is questioning why a modern conspiracy theory is being taught in an Introduction to Islam course? Is this one of the "Pillars" of Islam?
Enjoy your time away from here. There's no reason to hurry up and get back.

My spouse is a Badger alum, and since the spineless UW administration refuses to cut Barret's class, looks like we'll be 'winnowing and sifting' our yearly alumni countribution somewhere else.

What an embarassment for the U. And I had so hoped both our girls would go there. No longer.
